Town staff told the commission that the RFP for financial-audit services requires a selection committee that include at least three members with one governing-body member and at least two community members. The town accepted applications and staff recommended appointing six individuals to the auditor selection committee.
Appointed individuals named by staff were Steve Stanford, Kenneth Bresnahan, Louis Karua, Scott Gordon and John P. Gogan; the mayor was also included on the committee. Staff said the RFP will close on Thursday, after which the selection committee will begin reviewing proposals and staff will coordinate meeting times with members.
A commissioner moved and the commission approved the appointments by voice vote. Staff said in-person meetings will be needed and that remote participation may be possible if a member cannot attend in person.
