The Town of Oakland commission approved the auditor selection committee’s recommendation to select Pervis Gray as the town's new external auditor and authorized the town manager to execute any documents necessary to contract with the firm.
A staff presenter described the selection process: four proposals were received, the committee met multiple times, brought the top firms in for 30-minute presentations and ranked firms on qualifications, experience, methodology and price. "Pervis Gray rankings were in the high nineties, and the selection committee was extremely impressed with their in-person proposal," a staff presenter said.
The commission approved a motion (two-part: select Pervis Gray and authorize contract execution by the town manager) by voice vote. Members of the selection committee mentioned included Mayor Taylor, Ken Bresnahan, Scott Gordon and Steve Stanford; Scott Gordon was identified as being present in the audience.
The motion as recorded authorized the town manager to finalize contractual documents; the transcript does not include a full roll-call vote tally. The town manager will complete contract execution and return any required contract documents to the commission as part of the procurement process.
