The board voted to adopt Ordinance 1‑8‑26, a code enforcement compliance plan, after members said public hearings had already been held and procedural steps completed. The chair introduced the ordinance and a motion to adopt was made and seconded; the motion carried.
The board also adopted Ordinance 1‑8‑26a, which the town described as regulations prohibiting the illegal dumping of liquid and solid waste at the Kanarraville transfer station. Staff said the measure is intended to simplify disposal options for residents — either place waste in the regular garbage, use the transfer station properly, or take it to the county landfill. After discussion, a motion to adopt passed and a roll‑call recorded affirmative votes from named members.
On a separate matter, the board considered a public request from resident Jesse Cox for more time to address a zoning ordinance violation while related court processes continue. Cox asked for "another 90 days" to allow a companion to move out and for court matters to conclude. The board made and seconded a motion to extend the compliance deadline 90 days and approved it by voice vote.
Routine procedural items passed as well: the board approved monthly expenditures (covering the transition period around Jan. 8) and voted to adopt the Dec. 11, 2025 meeting minutes. The board also appointed Robbie Masterson as a replacement on the appeal authority after a motion and second. There was no closed session and no additional formal actions were tabled.
What happens next: staff will issue the written notice of the 90‑day extension to Jesse Cox and will follow up on implementation steps for the newly adopted ordinances, including enforcement procedures and public notice. Bids and implementation plans connected to other agenda items will return to the council for approval as required.
