Summary
The council auditor told the True Commission that FMGI (formerly Facilities Management Group Inc.) contributed to the sheriff’s investigative fund; city procurement searches showed no current contracts with FMGI under either name.
Tommy Carter, of the council auditor’s office, reported to the True Commission that FMGI — formerly Facilities Management Group Inc. — had made a contribution to the sheriff’s investigative fund but does not appear to hold contracts with the City of Jacksonville under either name.
Carter told commissioners he found FMGI is registered as a Georgia foreign profit corporation with a registered agent listed in Tallahassee, Florida, and that the company’s officers include Darren Ross (president), Chris Head (vice president, CFO), Lionel Postick (secretary) and Luke Hardeman (vice president). “They do various construction work,” Carter said, noting he had seen the company banner on a new Walmart construction site in the Argyle Forest area.
Carter said procurement records do not show active contracts between FMGI (or the former Facilities Management Group Inc.) and the city. Commission members did not move any formal action because the meeting lacked a quorum; the auditor described this as an information item and concluded his prepared remarks.
The commission did not take a vote or adopt any recommendation on the FMGI matter during the session. Chair Blake Bass said the auditor’s report would remain on the commission’s work list for follow‑up if members wanted additional investigation.
Ending: The commission moved from the auditor’s item into public comment; no formal directive or vote on FMGI was recorded during the meeting.
