CRA board approves $1 million for CRA-wide wayfinding signage program

The CRA board voted to allocate $1,000,000 for a CRA-wide wayfinding signage program, approving the measure by ballot with a 13-0 tally. Karen Nasralla, OED staff, presented the proposal and the advisory board’s recommendation.
Nasralla told the board the initiative is intended to create “a consistent clean and accurate system of way finding signs” to define points of interest, reinforce each district’s attributes and aid motorists and pedestrians navigating within the CRA. She said Complete Streets consultants and subcontractors (Lakeside Sign Company and API Design Architects) would handle design and that Acon will coordinate logistics from design through installation.
The advisory board voted unanimously to recommend the allocation. The board moved and seconded the resolution and, after no public comment, adopted the funding by a ballot vote recorded as 13 yeas and 0 nays.
Staff said the program is intended to be completed in coordination with ongoing Complete Streets work to reduce the need to redo sidewalks or streetscapes later. No additional funding adjustments were requested; the allocation will come from CRA funds identified in the packet.
The board then adjourned the King SooTel meeting and moved on to other agenda items.
