Elections office announces polling-place relocations for 2026 cycle in three districts

The Montgomery County director of elections told the commission the office has confirmed replacement polling locations for several precincts in preparation for the 2026 elections after some previously used sites were unavailable.
Alexandria Stevens, director of elections, said Midtown YMCA will serve as the replacement for Precinct 104 and Messiah Lutheran Church will replace Precinct 105 in Commission District 1 for the 2026 cycle. “Midtown YMCA has agreed to serve as a polling location... Messiah Lutheran Church has agreed to serve as a replacement… for the 2026 election cycle in District 1,” she said.
In Commission District 2, Precinct 204 will move to Catholic Social Services, which staff described as a larger space that should better accommodate voters and poll workers. In District 5, Von Forest Church agreed to serve as the site for the election cycle because of the short turnaround for runoffs; the county said it hopes to return to St. James Church for the November general election if scheduling allows.
Commissioners publicly thanked churches and other organizations that host polling locations, noting that running a polling place is a long-day commitment for property owners and volunteers. The election office will present the formal resolutions to approve the relocations on the regular session agenda for official action.
