The Board approved a construction change order of a little under $14,000 for library renovation work that staff described as punch-list and unforeseen conditions in an older building.
Roger said most items were identified by the contractor during fit-out — floor leveling in areas that were not square, four additional floor electrical outlets requested to support tables and computers, and plumbing demolition to fit new kitchen equipment. Staff noted the library maintains reserves (more than $100,000) and that the change order represented well under 1% of the overall project cost.
Board members discussed whether some items should have been identified during design but ultimately agreed the items were reasonable for an older building. The board approved the change order by voice vote; staff said the library will host an open house on March 7 and that final punch-list work is expected to be completed soon.
