The Carroll County authority received a brief update on an ongoing wastewater project and agreed to hold an executive session on Monday, Feb. 16 at 5 p.m. at Fiddler's to discuss several projects and regional coordination.
“Mister Watson said, ‘We're still working on it. We did have a conversation with NCDOT. They still are interested,’” according to remarks during the meeting. Watson also told the authority the staff has provided information to the group preparing the authority's asset management plan and emphasized the plan’s goal “to identify the things that we have and to put in some long-term maintenance.”
The board discussed scheduling details and settled on Feb. 16 at 5:00 p.m. at Fiddler's, a local venue noted for having a meeting room the group could use. The chair confirmed the date and time and said the board would follow up with a formal notice.
Separately, the authority reviewed a request for a water connection to a property identified in the request as “251 Beauty Shop Road.” Mister Watson estimated roughly 300 feet of line would be involved and noted that the property owner mentioned family members who might also want service at the same time. The board asked staff to obtain a formal cost estimate and follow up with the property owner.
No formal decisions on project approvals or service extensions were recorded at the meeting; staff were directed to return with estimates and additional information before any final action. The authority adjourned after taking routine votes later in the meeting.
