Crowe LLP reported unmodified (clean) opinions on the district’s financial statements and federal awards and no findings on state compliance. District Chief Business Officer Laniyah Bridal followed with a budget update noting modest projected revenue growth, declining enrollment and planning steps for the upcoming fiscal year.
External auditors from Crowe LLP delivered a clear, unmodified opinion on the Fairfield‑Suisun Unified School District’s 2024–25 financial statements and federal compliance audits, and reported no findings on the state compliance work.
Elizabeth Saab, a partner with Crowe LLP, told the board the firm issued an unmodified opinion on the financial statements and the federal awards audit and found no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies. On the state compliance portion of the audit she emphasized the significance of having no findings, noting the state requires reporting of certain non‑fiscal compliance items even if they have no dollar impact.
District Chief Business Officer Laniyah Bridal presented the governor’s January 2026 budget proposal and the district’s preliminary projections. Bridal said the governor’s proposal reflects a modest statewide shortfall and no new programs; locally, the district projects a $4.7 million increase in revenue (about 1.8%) but expects enrollment to decline by roughly 275 students next year and currently averages about 92% attendance. Bridal explained staff will use multiyear projections and different ADA scenarios to choose the most advantageous planning figures and will update the board at the second interim and at adoption in June.
Board members praised the audit results and thanked business office staff for their work. The district noted it will continue to monitor state and federal developments, incorporate any labor agreements into projections, and return to the board with revised budget materials as required.
