Unidentified Speaker 2, the rec center director, provided the director's report covering maintenance, membership and finances. He said a sprinkler line froze and broke during recent cold weather but was repaired the same day and staff prevented any closure. "Our staff did a great job cleaning that up," he said.
On capital equipment, the director said an HVAC unit is being built and that delivery will take several months. He also said he aims to present information about a proposed locker room renovation at the next board meeting.
On membership and programs, the director reported 2,110 members for the latest month and 155 new members during the month; he said Cherokee Nation program participation was 587 members and that four of the last seven months exceeded 2,000 members. He credited increased pool parties and rentals for part of the growth.
On finances, the packet shows year-to-date revenue of $168,009.34 and lists a Cherokee Nation receivable totaling $28,003.60 that the director said, when received, will boost net revenue. The director also noted the $3,000 sale of bleachers as an unusual revenue item and said unofficial January figures are still being reconciled. He flagged apparent anomalies in the sales‑tax lines and said he has asked staff (Hannah) to investigate the month-to-month spikes and small budget line discrepancies.
The board did not take formal fiscal action during the meeting; the director said he will return with clearer reconciled numbers at a later meeting.
