She said the court program recorded approximately 2,030 enrollments in 2024–25 and that students placed through the court system had an average placement of about 36–39 days, which limits time available to complete CTE certificates. Trustees asked about testing windows, English learner testing and high chronic‑absenteeism rates; staff explained the testing schedule and that court‑related absences are tied to court appearances and processes. The board approved the court and community SARC reports.
Staff delivered a midyear Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) update covering county‑office priorities (including credentialing, state standards, parent involvement, student engagement, climate, CTE and foster‑youth supports). The presentation highlighted Foster Focus user accounts and a reported 74% FAFSA completion rate for foster youth last year. The board accepted and filed the midyear LCAP update.
Under the consent agenda the board approved graduation diplomas, and later trustees approved the California School Boards Association 2026 Delegate Assembly ballot. Trustees also considered and adopted a resolution commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary and distributing a voluntary Freedom 250 teacher toolkit for RISE students. The resolution was read aloud and then adopted by voice vote.
