Staff said Teakwood LLC, represented by Tyler Tomczak on behalf of owner Christopher Flood, requested grant funds to tuck‑point the front and rear of a downtown building; the proposed tuck‑pointing conforms to Secretary of the Interior standards and does not require a Certificate of Appropriateness. Two contractor bids were included in the packet.
Under the city's program the grant allows a 50% match up to $20,000 per facade and $10,000 for site improvements with a $50,000 property cap; staff reported the applicant is eligible for $20,315 (50% of a $30,630 tuck‑pointing estimate) and included $5,000 for architectural fees. Staff recommended approval and suggested placing the item on consent or action at a future meeting.
Council asked whether the first floor is currently occupied; staff replied the space is vacant and the applicant prefers to complete tuck‑pointing this fall ahead of re‑roofing and interior work next year.
The grant was included in the consent agenda and the council approved the consent motion that covered several items, including facade grants.
