At its Feb. 9 meeting the Morganton City Council reappointed two members to the Morganton Housing Authority and filled a vacancy on the Board of Adjustment.
Mayor (acting) reappointed Teresa DeHart and Brian Black to five‑year terms on the Morganton Housing Authority board, with terms expiring Feb. 1, 2031. Council then appointed Leanne Britton to the Board of Adjustment to fill a vacancy created by Susan Scheller's departure; Britton's term will expire June 3, 2029.
On project business the council approved Change Order No. 1 to McAdams for structural engineering design services for the Catawba Meadows concession building restoration to improve flood resilience. The change order amount is $6,200 and staff said the work could help the city qualify for FEMA funding for resilient rebuilding.
All motions passed by voice vote. Staff will process the reappointments and the change order paperwork for signatures.
