A commissioner asked about two diamond trailers bought from Perry's trailer sales. Commissioner Hemings said the purchases were made under Emergency Management, funded partly by donations and about $1,400 from the department's regular budget. Hemings said placing the trailer and its equipment on the statewide equipment list allows other agencies to borrow it, and the county would be reimbursed roughly "$300 dollars or $304 per day on it," when loaned.
Ken Mueller, chief engineer, said Road & Bridge crews were clearing trees after wind and planned to post several county vehicles for sale on the government surplus auction site within about a month. Mueller also announced that an administrative assistant had resigned for family reasons and separately requested authorization to refill staff; commissioners moved and approved at least one rehire motion during the meeting.
The board took the staffing and equipment measures by voice vote during the staff meeting; specifics of job postings, auction timing and exact reimbursement procedures will be handled by county administration and departments.
