Jesse provided an update to Sheridan County commissioners Dec. 22 on power outages that occurred in the area. He said crews carried out controlled outages to address transformer concerns after an incident, and that first responders and county road crews responded quickly to clear roads and make the area safe.
Jesse said crews found a tree that had fallen in front of Story Elementary School and that the tree struck a power line; as a result the school closed on Friday while repairs were made. He reported the line and fallen-tree issues have been addressed and repaired, though controlled outages continued in part to prevent further damage while utilities performed repairs.
Jesse also said some radio stations experienced outages and that the county worked closely with utility partners and first responders to provide situational updates. County road crews cleared roads and assisted with public safety work related to the outages.
