The program reached students at Carrie Downey, Castle Hills, Eisenberg and George Reed schools. Families were invited to a dinner at Seeds of Greatness, where Pastor Jerome Lewis welcomed attendees; students who could not attend had their gifts delivered to their schools, Wilson said.
An unnamed student told the program that a long-awaited wish had been fulfilled and noted receiving what they described as a "$100 worth of robot." Volunteers and participants described the event as a community effort built on generosity. "Blessed to be a blessing," one speaker summarized of the initiative's aims.
Wilson said this was the second year the church has supported Colonial students through the program. The segment was presented as part of the district's "Keeping Up with Colonial" communications.
