Council approves Item B while staff promises amendments to place community organization inside clinic

The Deputy Secretary of State told the committee, “Definitely wanna to, vote on it as it is today, but we're I wanted to let you guys know that we're gonna be having some amendments that we'll bring forth by by the next rules committee to specify, placing community organization inside of the clinic, the old Saline, association.” The deputy also said the administration would like the council to consider rolling the issue into special counsel later, to accommodate the organization’s plans.
The Chair then asked Councillor Lisonbee to take the item; a motion and second were recorded and following a voice call of 'All in favor?' an aye was voiced and the Chair announced the motion carried. The committee approved the item as presented while noting that staff will return with amendments to specify placement and related details.
The meeting did not record the final text of the proposed amendments, a timetable for their drafting, or legal terms for placement and occupancy. The Deputy Secretary’s remarks indicated staff will pursue those details with the Rules Committee and potentially in special counsel.
