County staff (Miss Mueller) asked the board to authorize purchase of a parcel owned by a property owner adjacent to the county building to address chronic parking shortages on jury or court days. Staff said the seller agreed to sell at assessed value and paperwork had been signed.
A supervisor moved to authorize the purchase and the board approved the resolution. One supervisor abstained, citing a family relationship with the seller; the motion passed with the remaining supervisors voting in favor.
Staff will proceed with the transaction steps authorized by the resolution and coordinate with the county administrator and county attorney to finalize closing and integration of the parcel for parking use.
