At the start of the meeting, Cherokee Nation Health Services and Cherokee Nation Public Health delivered operational reports covering service volumes, digital tools, staffing and public‑health program changes.
Cherokee Nation Health Services (identified in the meeting as Mr. Bridal Hill) said, "During November, we had over 75,000 visits served" and reported 194,040 prescriptions filled. He noted 92 births at Hastings in November and said the system delivered 1,112 babies in 2025, a record year. Mr. Bridal Hill encouraged use of a newly released pharmacy app (Apple and Google app stores) that supports refills, medication reminders and text notifications.
Mr. Bridal Hill also announced a health hiring event scheduled for Jan. 16 at the Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center in Tahlequah, aimed at filling about 150 new positions for an upcoming hospital opening. On flu activity he said cases are increasing and that higher vaccination coverage is mitigating severity.
Public Health Director Lisa Pippick said the WIC distribution process will move to an online system beginning in February and be fully implemented by May, enabling staff to issue benefits without a physical card at mobile events and to speed vendor payments. She confirmed public‑health nursing remains active in the field and that staff have administered over 3,000 flu shots at mobile events.
Committee members asked for follow-up numbers on app downloads and patient‑flow impacts; staff said they will provide additional data on request.
