The Oklahoma State Senate convened, established a quorum, opened with an invocation and handled introductory and housekeeping matters before adjourning until Feb. 16, 2026.
The clerk called the roll and the chair declared a quorum. Senator Darcy Yek offered the opening prayer. The chamber granted unanimous consent to allow an entourage on the floor.
Senator Nice introduced an intern, Cottrell Strain, a sophomore English major at Langston University, and granted him privileges of the floor. Senators made a series of short announcements: Senator Peterson noted a Farm City Festival lunch on the 2nd Floor around 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Senator Stanley scheduled a Veterans and Military Affairs Committee meeting at about 1:05 p.m.; Senator Coleman said Business and Insurance will meet in Room 535 when a quorum is reached; Senator Hall distributed an "eggs and issue" appropriation sheet for members; and Senator Stanley recognized Senator Julie Daniels' birthday.
A floor leader moved that, when the clerk's desk is clear, the Senate stand adjourned until Monday, Feb. 16, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. The presiding officer called for voice votes and the motion was adopted by voice.
