Staff explained the grant mechanics and timeline: the grant required a public meeting resolution, at least one designated committee member, and a brief plan for how the funds would be used. The council discussed using the plug-in grant toward the city’s Fourth of July fireworks and whether to combine events with neighboring jurisdictions; staff noted the application deadline had been extended and was imminent.
Council members volunteered to serve on the Beaver City committee and asked staff to include the America250 logo on promotional materials and the city’s event notices as required by the grant. The council moved and adopted Resolution 2 10 20 26 c by roll call (Hunter Hall, Lance Cox, Tyler Skeena and David Albrecht recorded as yes). Staff will finalize the committee membership and submit the grant application.
