Bartlett board adopts six municipal ordinances on disorderly conduct, intoxication, open containers and related rules

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted unanimously on second reading to adopt six ordinances that amend Bartlett’s municipal code.
Madam Clerk read each ordinance title into the record. Ordinance 26‑01 adds a new section 3‑07 to prohibit disorderly conduct; Ordinance 26‑02 adds a section 3‑08 to prohibit public intoxication; Ordinance 26‑03 adds a section 3‑09 to prohibit obstructing a highway or other passageway; Ordinance 26‑04 adopts by reference Tennessee Code Annotated 55‑10‑106 (immediate notice of accident) in a new municipal code section; Ordinance 26‑05 adds a requirement for trailer safety chains; and Ordinance 26‑06 adds a municipal prohibition for open containers in vehicles.
For each item the board called for public input and no speakers came forward. The board moved, took roll call and recorded each ordinance as passing unanimously 6–0 on second reading. The mayor noted the items were part of ordinance cleanup and offered that staff would be available for questions on the provisions.
Next steps: the ordinances take effect according to the municipal code’s standard schedule for newly adopted local law; staff said they would be available to answer implementation questions.
