Haskell County commissioners approve tractor lease, courthouse uniform contract and routine disposals

Commissioners also approved a service agreement with Vestas Uniforms and Workplace Supplies for courthouse uniforms and supplies. A speaker noted the vendor is based in Tulsa and that Vestas would replace the county’s prior provider, Unifirst, for courthouse services and may be considered for other county offices.
The board signed multiple resolutions to dispose of surplus items from county offices, among them six bayonet desk phones and several printers and desks from the assessor and treasurer offices. The board approved a transfer of funds from the stray animal fund back to the general depository under Resolution 31-26-16. A separate disposal request authorized the removal of an ice machine from District 3.
Officials reviewed change orders from VIP Voice Services and were told the company had issued credits to the courthouse account after billing for items such as faxes and extra phones in error. "They were billing us for things that they shouldn't have, such as faxes and extra phones," an unidentified speaker said; commissioners approved applying the credits.
The treasurer’s financial statement for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, and monthly reports for county offices including the assessor, court clerk, county clerk, election board, health department, treasurer and sheriff were presented and approved. Commissioners also reviewed appropriations, transfers and bills to be paid and discussed a reimbursement where a county vehicle was used and a lunch purchase was claimed.
The board recessed to convene the Haskell County Excise Board, which approved prior proceedings and reviewed appropriations rules that require unused funds be returned to the general fund after one year. The regular meeting resumed and adjourned following the excise board actions.
