Todd Lane students win People’s Choice for Braddock diorama; history club highlighted at board meeting

Mister Reese, who runs the history club, said the club focuses on Western Pennsylvania history and entered dioramas in a competition at the Braddock Battlefield History Center. Four fifth‑grade students — Maya Pavoisky, Claire Ann, Katie Miller and Austin Nagy — explained key players in the battle, construction techniques used for the diorama (including recycled foam and spray foam to make reusable elements), and what they learned on the trip to Fort Necessity.
Mister Reese told the board the students’ group won the People’s Choice Award. "So congratulations to the 4 of you on your success," a board member said while presenting medals. The presentation highlighted hands‑on learning and community partnerships; no formal board action accompanied the recognition during the work session.
