At its Sept. 25 meeting the Forest Hills Board of Education approved the consent agenda covering human resources, contracts and financial items.
Human resources staff presented retirements for Krista Tuppi and Carla Nicholas, a set of classified resignations and a large set of appointments and supplemental contracts. The board approved the HR report and associated consent items after a motion and roll‑call vote; Dr. Strickler was recorded as abstaining on the HR item.
The board also approved contracts for specialized student placements (Butler County ESC, Claremont/Claremont County ESC and Beckett Springs day‑treatment educational services) and a three‑year on‑site Ford Edge desktop‑technician agreement for classroom IT support. The technology director clarified the on‑site contract is distinct from the managed‑services agreement that covers network infrastructure.
Treasurer’s figures presented included $8,705 in donations received in August (bringing year‑to‑date donations to just under $12,000), roughly $487,000 in interest earnings year to date, and changes to employee benefit rates (dental and health insurance adjustments effective 01/01/2025). The treasurer reminded the board that certain appropriations must be passed by Sept. 30.
A motion to approve items 9.2 through 13.1 carried by roll call. Specific items approved included the HR report (9.1), the technical policy correction advised by Neola, substitute and instructor salary schedule adjustments and various routine consent items. The board set follow‑up items for committee review on longer‑range capital planning and insurance benchmarking.
