Utility board selects Blades AV proposal for district security, pending contract

Director (Speaker 2) told trustees that staff met with the two top security companies that submitted proposals and brought in a representative from 9-1-1 and a Mr. Hubs to assist the review. "We had a meeting with both of the top security companies that had given us proposals, and we brought in Steve Dirks from 9 1 1 also," Speaker 2 said, adding the recommended scope and price. The proposed total for the work is $119,022.25.
Trustee (Speaker 3) moved the board accept the Blades proposal "subject to successful contract negotiations." After a voice vote, Speaker 1 announced the motion carried.
The board and staff noted there is not yet a signed contract. Speaker 2 confirmed the vendor has not delivered a proposed contract and said staff will "reach out to them ... and we'll get [it] moving through the vehicle." The approval at the meeting authorized staff to continue negotiations and proceed to finalize a contract consistent with the approved proposal.
The decision was taken by voice vote with all trustees present voting in favor. The board did not provide additional budget detail at the meeting and did not announce a contract start date.
