Cedar City Council approves several general-plan and zone changes, clears consent agenda

At the Oct. 29 meeting the council approved the consent agenda and several zoning and general-plan items.

Consent agenda: Council approved minutes, bills and a purchase of a 2026 International plow truck chassis for $172,156.47 as part of the consent agenda. A councilmember moved and the motion passed by voice vote.

Items 5–7 (vicinity of 800 North & 3700 West): Council considered a package of related land-use actions — general plan changes (density designations), multiple rezones (R‑1 to R‑2 variants) and an amendment to a development agreement. Staff said there were no substantive changes from prior materials; the council approved items 5–7 in a combined motion and recorded a unanimous roll-call vote.

Items 8–9 (vicinity of 1157 South Main): Council heard from Rick Magnus of AWA Engineering on behalf of the applicant and approved a small general-plan change and a zone change affecting a parcel adjacent to 1157 South Main. The council moved and seconded approval and recorded the roll-call result in favor.
