Shane Johnson explained Phase 6 would add entrances off Iron Mission Parkway and a north road and that design work is funded from carryover from prior phases. Several council members said existing road curves and narrow radii make turning difficult for full-size pickups and larger vehicles, and they asked that Civil Science reconsider curb radii, grade transitions and the relationship between the new curbs and existing ground levels. Members also pushed for a clear tree-replacement plan (one-for-one or two-for-one) when mature specimens are removed for grading.
Council directed staff to return to the designer for adjustments on curb grades and circulation and moved the design change onto consent for the next meeting so work can continue without delay. No construction contract was approved at the meeting.
