Ken Nelson (Leisure Services) said cemetery renovation compaction testing passed and asphalt work and concrete gutters are next. Park Discovery will close for several days while crews install 22 playground pieces; Main Street playground requires only a few final pieces. A new trail is complete from the east side of Little League Park to the parking lot near a new restroom. Nelson also said contractors want to finish asphalt past Little League Park as weather allows.
On the pool, American Leak Detection located the break and staff said the pool manufacturer (CEM) will provide repair scheduling; no local contractor could handle the liner repair and the timeline depends on the manufacturer's availability.
Public comment reinforced the council discussion about sidewalks: Brent Parker asked the council to avoid patchwork curb-and-gutter without sidewalks and Sean Wharton of 16 Stones Construction described repeated failures of newly poured sidewalks during construction, saying "it's almost impossible to build anything without breaking the sidewalk." Another commenter, Christian Lee Simmons, gave a general public comment urging government reopening (expressing personal viewpoint) but did not relate to agenda items.
No votes were taken on parks projects during the meeting; staff will bring any formal change orders or budget items to future agendas.
