Council unanimously approves several zoning and general-plan amendments

Cedar City Council voted unanimously at its Oct. 29 meeting to approve a set of general-plan and zone changes affecting two areas of the city.
In a combined motion, the council approved ordinances changing the general plan and zoning designations in the vicinity of 800 North and 3700 West and amended the associated development agreement (items 5–7). Staff said the density and infrastructure requirements remain the same as previously discussed. Rick Magnus of AWA Engineering, representing the applicant, told the council he supported staff recommendations and offered to answer questions.
In a separate motion the council approved a small general-plan and zone change for a parcel near 1157 South Main (items 8–9). Magnus again addressed the council on behalf of the applicant, thanking staff for assistance.
Both motions were seconded and approved by roll call. The clerk recorded consecutive 'Aye' responses (four recorded 'Aye' responses in the roll call sequence reported in the minutes) and the mayor announced the votes were unanimous.
The ordinances will adjust land-use designations and zoning as read into the record; staff noted no changes from the prior submittal and confirmed infrastructure obligations remain unchanged. The council did not place additional conditions on approval during the meeting.
