Airport staff said car-rental companies (Avis was cited) would accept a consumer fee (proposed $1.50 per rental-day) and estimated $15,000—7,000 in annual revenue from the primary renter alone. The capital cost cited for a minimal car-wash pad, canopy, water and drainage was roughly $40,000; council discussed whether the rental companies or customers should pay and whether to proceed as a user-funded amenity.
Airport staff also noted a larger role for the airport in regional wildfire logistics, upcoming snow-blower delivery timing and continuing negotiations with a National Guard facility about future hangar development.
