Wendell Williams moved that the director ensure delivery of the two comprehensive marketing strategies (2024 and 2025) and the two full-year impact reports on the economic impact of those campaigns. Howard Trenholm seconded the motion, and the board approved it unanimously.
The motion followed a presentation from staff and questions about contract performance. Board members said they needed the 2023–24 materials and the 2024 campaign impact report to evaluate what worked and what did not before approving continued spending under the Love Communications contract, which staff described as an over–$1 million program. Wendell Williams said the contract requires a comprehensive marketing strategy and budget by April 30 and that the board should have the deliverables on file before moving forward: "I make a motion that the director ensures that we have those 4 documents," the board record shows.
Board members discussed timing and the logistics of reviewing large data sets; they asked staff to circulate the documents promptly and proposed a workshop to review the materials before the next regular meeting so the board could make timely recommendations to the county commission. Staff said they had requested the deliverables and would circulate the response.
