Board takes McLeod Park bulkhead bids under review; multiple routine motions approved

At the Nov. 17 Hancock County Board of Supervisors meeting, staff opened sealed and electronic proposals for the McLeod Park Bulkhead Improvements Project and the board voted to take all bids under review for later consideration.
Procurement staff read base bids and add alternates submitted by multiple firms, including Gills Crane & Dozer; Coastal Land & Marine Construction; Baker Pyle Dirt & Site Work; JE Borys; Cycle Construction Company; and B & K Construction Company. Base bids ranged from approximately $1.18 million to $1.49 million depending on bidder and alternates. After reading all submissions, the board voted unanimously to take the proposals under advisement for review.
The meeting record also shows the board approved a variety of routine but consequential items by recorded votes: excusing District 2 (4–0), amending the docket to add a $3,043.64 payment to Prussia Davis and approving the Nov. 17 claims docket (motion carries 4–0 where noted), approving a McLeod Park payment request for engineering services, authorizing household hazardous waste day agreements, personnel hires and payroll removals, right-of-way requests, and multiple grant- and contract-related motions including a fully executed amendment to a master services agreement (DCMC) and the EMSOF grant application submission.
Board action on these items was generally unanimous. No contract award for the bulkhead project was made at the meeting; staff said bids will be reviewed and returned to the board for a future award decision.
