A resident who requested an alleyway vacation in 2024 returned to the council on Feb. 6 with an update: although the council passed an ordinance vacating the alley in 1987, not all affected property owners recorded deeds with the county.
Taylor Burrows told the council that some neighbors (Ken Hussey, Ron Brinkman, Curtis Baxter, James Pierce and Brent Baxter were named in the discussion) had not recorded deeds; staff said the parties could proceed with county recording once the affected owners sign and that no further council action appeared necessary if the ordinance already exists.
Councilors asked staff to note the update for the record and to assist the parties with the ministerial steps for county recording as needed.
