Milford to switch accounting software; two‑day in‑office closure planned for deployment

Milford staff told the council on Feb. 6 that the city will convert its accounting platform to Plorist and will schedule on‑site deployment and training on Feb. 17–18.
The administrator (unidentified staff speaker) said the migration will require the office to close for in‑person service on those days while Plorist staff (Forrest named as the on‑site lead) complete the final conversion and training. Residents would still be able to make online payments and use mail or dropbox options; staff plans to maintain the legacy "Cassell" system for cross‑checks through March to allow time to reconcile data.
"We'll make our final conversion tonight... On the seventeenth and the eighteenth, Forrest will be on‑site to deploy us and do on‑site training," the staff speaker said. The speaker added that payroll will be trained first and that the city will keep Cassell available for reference in case of odd data issues.
The council supported the cautious overlap and the plan to keep both systems temporarily available. Staff will update the public on service availability during the transition and report back if additional time is needed.
