Summary
The commission granted 12-month extensions for a flexible industrial building at 1024 N. Bradford and a self-storage project, citing ongoing work on land development agreements, easements and permit finalization; staff noted the requests fit within the new five-year completion timeline in the SALDO.
The Allentown City Planning Commission voted Jan. 13 to grant 12-month time extensions for two previously conditionally approved projects after applicants said they are finalizing outstanding agreements and awaiting permit execution.
Carly Seabiam, the attorney for the Tiger Den Partners entities, asked for a one-year extension for the flexible industrial building at 1024 N. Bradford, explaining the developer is finalizing the land development agreement and other related agreements. "The delay has been the result of various...we are working diligently with the planning office to finalize revisions to the land development agreement," Seabiam said.
A separate self-storage applicant made a similar request and confirmed they are finalizing a sanitary sewer easement agreement and BMP and stormwater licensing agreements. Planning staff said the updated SALDO effective Jan. 1 expanded the allowable completion timeline to five years, and therefore did not object to granting these extensions.
Commissioners moved and approved the extensions by voice votes with standard conditions that applicants comply with outstanding city comment letters and obtain any additional required approvals.
