He credited Joseph, Hazely, Hayden and Landon with returning to a yard where they heard a voice and finding the woman between a shed and a concrete fence, actions he said likely prevented a worse outcome. The chief also updated the commission that a separate missing-person incident earlier that day ended with the person found safe about five miles outside town.
Mayor and commissioners thanked the volunteers, emergency responders and residents who joined grid searches. Chief Earhart noted the department called a KHP plane and sought assistance from drone teams in one search; not all drone resources were available. The commission emphasized local cooperation and said the community response demonstrates the mutual aid that smaller jurisdictions often rely upon.
