The Hurricane Planning Commission voted to approve the preliminary plat for Gateway Resort at Sand Hollow Phase 1 (PP26-01), authorizing the developer to proceed with the first phase of a 96-unit resort/recreation development near the Sand Hollow roundabout. Applicant representatives said the original preliminary approval had lapsed and that the phased approach and site adjustments are meant to enable timely infrastructure work and vacation of an old right-of-way.
Carl O'Roskerson (agent) described updated parking and amenity plans and told commissioners that remaining infrastructure work is expected to be completed in the next month, after which the city will consider vacating the old road right-of-way. Commissioners approved the preliminary plat subject to staff and JUC comments and advised the developer to continue coordination on off-site improvements and platting for subsequent phases.
