Zav described a multiuse vision tied to an offered piece of equipment: "We have been offered a 53 foot refrigerated truck from the sheriff’s office under contract," he said, explaining that the truck could provide refrigerated storage for growers and food vendors, serve Mana House and local restaurants, and also function as a stage backdrop and multiuse venue element.
The committee discussed operational questions including how a 40-foot shipping-container structure might be treated under county codes, sound-management needs, vendor scheduling and the logistics of skirting large vehicles so they appear as intentional installations rather than utilitarian equipment. Zav said some targets for getting pieces in place are March 1 and April 1; he described the April date as his more realistic deadline for full activation.
Members also flagged partnerships: Master Gardeners were noted as collaborators for food-production efforts, and the group discussed outreach to farmer-market operators and other organizations that could use shared refrigerated storage to reduce travel burdens for small producers.
No lease or CUP was approved during the meeting; members asked project leads to circulate photos of the truck and continue drafting permit language for review at a future meeting.
