Board approves athletic membership, donations, and Chromebook purchase in consent votes

The board approved participation in the Ohio High School Athletic Association for grades 7–12 for the 2025–26 school year, agreeing that district athletics will be conducted under OHSAA constitution, bylaws and regulations.
The board accepted donations listed on the agenda, including a $14,935.50 gift from Hope Community Church to cover outstanding school lunches; a $125 parking sign donation and $500 to Bassett Junior High from Dan Combs of State Farm Insurance; and an anonymous donation of assorted school supplies to Jerusalem Elementary's fourth grade. The board presented public recognition to Hope Community Church and pastor Jacob Haas for the effort.
Procurement actions approved included a $900 contract to reserve premier catering for the 2026 high school prom and an award to CDW-G for 600 Chromebooks at $198,600 (bids from Insight and InConnection were higher). The board also approved disposal of specified Clay High School instruments and equipment.
All motions were moved, seconded and passed by roll-call votes as recorded in the meeting transcript. The Chromebook award and donation acceptance were recorded as part of the consent agenda approval.
