During remarks the presenter said Kern County has recorded 105 safely surrendered infants since 2006 and praised the coalition’s education and first‑responder partners. Elected officials and members of the public thanked the group for its outreach and for raising awareness of the statutory option that allows parents or individuals with lawful custody to surrender a newborn confidentially within 72 hours of birth.
The proclamation encourages Wasco residents to support the Safely Surrendered Baby Coalition and related outreach efforts.
