City staff updated the commission about a vacant property on the 300 block of North Broadway that the city acquired at a sheriff's sale. The school district (USD) has expressed interest in relocating a house it owns from across from the high school to that vacant parcel.
Staff said quiet-title action has been filed and the quiet-title period concludes Dec. 23. Bill Berman with the school district indicated he could attend the Jan. 5 City Commission meeting to discuss details. Staff noted the district would be responsible for any utility work required to make the property usable.
Commissioners expressed support for the school district attendance at the January meeting and no objections were raised to continuing discussions at that time.
