Bangerter bridge poured; UDOT to close northbound left turn to SR‑134 for weekend work

John LaFolle, communications manager for Herriman City, said the concrete for the Bangerter Highway bridge has been poured and is currently drying and curing, which will require roughly a month before it may carry traffic. ‘‘The bridge has been poured, meaning it's the concrete is there now, then it's it's drying and curing right now,’’ LaFolle said.

LaFolle warned of a temporary traffic change tied to the work. He said the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) must close the left‑turn lane from northbound Bangerter to westbound SR‑134 ‘‘after 10 PM on Friday through Monday at 5 AM’’ to relocate the lane. During that window, motorists will be routed to 126 to access Herriman from northbound Bangerter, he said.

LaFolle emphasized the closure is short term in the context of a long project. He said the freeway section below the bridge should be ready for traffic that weekend and that the overall project had been projected to finish in November, although UDOT officials have sometimes suggested an optimistic October date. ‘‘They're they've started to say October, which is funny. They've said November the whole time,’’ LaFolle said.

The city has posted notices on multiple platforms and coordinated with neighboring municipalities, LaFolle said, and urged drivers to plan for the brief disruption.
