Council member Teddy Hodges summarized a two‑year report from the nonprofit Friends of Herriman, which the city helped incubate as a 501(c)(3). Hodges said the volunteer group now runs trails work, events such as Bridal Palooza, Veterans Day activities and the Farmers Market, and that it has ‘‘surpassed where we thought they could go’’ in fundraising and programming.
Hosts said the city provides an annual grant to Friends of Herriman and that the presentation served as accountability for funds the city has given. Hodges added the organization pursues county, state and federal funds as well as private fundraising to support its activities.
