Mariposa County advisory committee advances draft abandoned-vehicle code for board review

Staff framed the draft as a tool to help remove public-nuisance vehicles while preserving the county’s eligibility for CHP-administered funds.
"We contacted CHP and they said we would still qualify for the AVA state program," Will Fassett said while summarizing edits that included lengthening notice periods and removing infraction language. That potential access to state funds was a central reason committee members said they wanted workable local language.
