The Somers Central School District Board of Education voted Feb. 10 to appoint Megan Feve as the district’s next director of pupil personnel services, with a probationary term beginning July 1, 2026, and expiring June 30, 2030.
Superintendent [name withheld where not stated] described a search that began after the notice of Stacy [surname in transcript varies] retirement and said the selection prioritized candidates with a track record of advocacy for students, collaborative communication with families, and experience overseeing special-education programs. “Through these results, it was clear that a track record of advocating for students' needs and resources and a proven ability to collaborate effectively and transparently with children and families were among the most valuable skills,” the superintendent said.
The resolution recorded that Feve holds New York State certifications in school psychology and administration and has served in district special services leadership since July 2024. The board resolved that Feve shall be paid an annual salary of $193,000 for 2026–27 and authorized signature of the terms and conditions by the board president or vice president.
The motion to appoint was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the public minutes.
Following the vote the board paused briefly to celebrate and the district said it will immediately begin a search to fill the assistant director role Feve will vacate.
