The Morgan County Planning Commission voted unanimously on Jan. 12 to recommend that the county commission approve the Wasatch Peaks Ranch Subdivision Phase 3a preliminary plat (file 25.045), a 13‑lot subdivision on roughly 25.27 acres located at approximately 5233 West Wasatch Peaks Road.
Staff presented the application and said the county engineer, planning department and Morgan County fire department had reviewed the proposal and found it meets county code standards and good planning principles. The applicant’s representative explained an omitted lot (D‑57) was being added back into the subdivision; staff clarified an acreage discrepancy in the packet (25.27 acres is the correct figure).
Member Taylor moved to recommend approval to the county commission based on the staff report dated Feb. 12, 2026; member King seconded. The motion carried unanimously. Staff noted the county engineer must still review detention calculations and final engineering prior to plat recordation.
What happens next: The matter will be transmitted to the county commission for final approval; the planning commission’s recommendation includes conditions described in the staff report and required engineer review of stormwater/detention calculations.
