The Salt Lake City Community Reinvestment Agency board unanimously elected Councilmember Dan Dugan chair and Councilmember Eva Lopez Chavez vice chair at its Jan. 13 meeting. Erica Carlson nominated Dugan for chair, and several members praised his leadership style and record before members cast ballots reported by the clerk.
Lopez Chavez described her priorities for the role, citing experience developing low-income housing tax credit and modular housing projects and naming neighborhood initiatives she would like to support, including Ballpark Next, the Rio Grande area plan and Main Street. Board members voiced support for her housing experience and energy for the role.
Both elections were decided during the meeting’s roll-call-style ballot process. The clerk read the names of voting members who supported the nominees; a councilmember participating remotely also sent a text confirming their vote. The board then moved on to the remainder of its agenda.
