"We are pleased to be upgrading 72 different bus stops," said Speaker 1, announcing a Park City program to improve transit stops across the city.
The speaker said upgrades will include constructing accessible paths to and from the stops and adding amenities such as benches, shelters, real-time information displays and new signage. "We're doing an accessible path to travel to and from the bus stops, and we're going to be adding new features at many of the stops like benches and shelters, real time information, and new signage as well," the speaker said.
The project is planned as a multi-year effort. "This is gonna be a multi year project over the next few years, and it's gonna look great," the speaker said, without providing a detailed schedule or budget. The announcement also highlighted a service item: the new 20 10 route. The speaker described the 20 10 as running "from here at BC Bark through to Park City Mountain, through to the Old Town Transit Centre, onto Deer Valley, and then up to Royal Street."
The speaker said the city is coordinating with engineering partners on the work: "Through our partners with engineering, we're working on these stops and really rely on their expertise." No formal vote, motion, funding amount, contractor names or firm timelines were provided in the remarks.
Next steps cited in the remarks include continued planning and engineering work; the speaker did not specify procurement timelines, funding sources or exact construction start dates.
