Park City council highlights transit expansions, buried power lines and new trails

Jeremy Rubell, a Park City council member, outlined infrastructure and transit priorities including burying power lines in the Bonanza area to support aesthetics, new development and wildfire mitigation; controlled burns and fuel-thinning on surrounding mountains for public-safety reasons; and a partnership with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) to study State Route 248 options such as a flex lane and dedicated bus lanes.
Rubell said the city has implemented measures to ease trailhead congestion and launched a new bus line referenced in the remarks as the "20 10 service" between Park Meadows and Royal Street, reinstating service locals previously used. He also described a bus-stop improvement program addressing almost 80 sites and said resort partners expanded direct service to resort parking areas and to Main Street.
Tana Tolle, another council member, noted completion of the 4.5-mile Bonanza Loop Trail and other bridge and trail projects funded in part through the Summit County wrap tax grant. Tolle also referenced Park City’s role in hosting the 2034 Olympics and a July 24 event that drew roughly 4,000 people.
No ordinance or funding vote was taken during these remarks; the session presented project updates and partnerships.
